How we differ from our Competitors

We encourage our candidates to be honest and open at all times. ES Recruitment is focused to making sure that all our staff, whether permanent or temporary, are happy in their workplace. When a position is offered we will make sure that the working conditions are satisfactory to meeting your needs.

Code of Conduct

In accordance with the Code of Conduct for our industry, we contact ALL our candidates prior to referring their resumes. We inform the candidate about the company and job description to prevent duplication.  

Employment Tips

How to create the perfect Resume

  1. It must be clear and easy to read - avoid small font and fancy pictures and borders that clutter the pages.
  2. Use headers and footers of your name and contact details on each page
  3. Use bullet points rather than long paragraphs
  4. IT should be no more than 4 pages in total
  5. Experiences should be listed in reversed chronological order
  6. It should create an interest so that the reader wants to meet you in person
  7. If possible use numbers and percentages to emphasis a particular point
  8. A cover letter should be included that highlights your skills and the position that you are applying for

Preparing for the Interview

  1. Organise what you are wearing before the interview. This way ensures there is no last minute rush and you will arrive relaxed and confident. Your choice in attire will reflect the image that you want to show your potential employer so make sure it is conservative and professional. Remember first impressions are the strongest.
  2. Research the company and any relevant industry issues. They may just ask you! The more you know about the business the more knowledgeable you will appear. Information is available from:
    1. Internet
    2. People/ contact/ networking
    3. Professional Association
    4. Newspaper/ Media
    5. Annual reports
  3. Bring a completed resume with you. It should include all the necessary documentation like certificates and letters where relevant.
  4. Prepare a list of questions that you would like to ask in the interview. This will demonstrate to the employer that you are really interested in the position. Some questions you may want to ask:
    1. What is the culture of the company?
    2. Is there an induction and training program?
    3. What sort of people have done well in the organisation?
    4. Are there advanced training programs available for those who demonstrate outstanding ability?
    5. What is the vision for the organisation's growth?
    6. What are the organisation's best selling products or services?
    7. What is the next step in the recruitment process?
  5. Plan to arrive 15 minutes before the interview. This will ensure that if any unforseen circumstances occur, you will not be late. However, if you are late, please contact either the client or ES

    Recruitment (07 3264 8324). This way, the interview can either be postponed or rescheduled.

During the Interview Remember

Post Interview recommendations

  1. Inform ES Recruitment as to how the interview went.
  2. You may wish to write a letter of appreciation. This will demonstrate to the employer that you really want the position.
  3. Show appreciation for the time and the interview
  4. Refresh the client’s mind of your strengths
  5. Include any points that were not mentioned- but do not go overboard
  6. Convey that you would like to have further discussions

What to avoid

  1. Not being prepared -Knowing nothing about the company to whom you are talking
  2. Not listening to questions carefully
  3. Making very general statements which lack substance
  4. Being over enthusiastic or too friendly
  5. Slouching, mumbling, speaking slowly
  6. Making derogatory remarks about your present or former employers.
